WE SEE a society of God-loving, prayerful, marvelous and happy families where:

*

THE HOME is a haven of love and security, where the children are loved for who they are, the place the children most love to be and to which they love to bring their friends;

*

THE PARENTS are both stewards and role models who realize that they are privileged to play a role in God’s creation, competently and joyfully nurturing

*

THE CHILDREN are imbued with and live Christian Values and Virtues as they develop towards  loving, responsible and productive adults, keenly aware of their partnership with God in perfecting our temporal world

“SATURDAY DATE WITH PAPA”
There was this father who told this story about his 6-year old boy whom he took out for a “SATURDAY DATE \WITH PAPA”. EDUCHILD had opened his eyes to the fact that fathers should once in a while take their children out by themselves without the mothers. SO one Saturday morning, he woke up his son: ‘Son, you are coming with me to the office today.” You will see where Papa works and what papa does.” The first number in their agenda was to go to the express teller machine to withdraw the money for the weekend. Upon, seeing the bills coming out of the machine, the boy was so impressed, he exclaimed: Ang daming pera!

Then they proceeded to the papa’s office where the boy tinkered with the office computer. Lunch time found father and son in a restaurant. The boy ate his food with gusto. After lunch, they passed by a car repair shop to have some kinks in the car repaired. Since they had no maid at that time, the passed by a supermarket for some grocery items. They were finally on their way home and were both very tired from the day’s activities and the almost unbearable heat of the sun. Upon arrival at home, the father overheard the young boy talking to the grandfather: “Lolo, and bait ni Papa!” The father said he never felt so good in a long time, hearing those words from his son.

A new resolution

Another father, after attending the EDUCHILD course, made this resolution: “From now on, every time my child comes up to me to ask some questions, I WILL PUT DOWN MY NEWSPAPER AND REALLY LISTEN TO WHAT HE IS SAYING.”

Be home early

Another father claims he now makes it a point to COME HOME EARLY AT LEAST ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK TO BE WITH HIS CHILDREN. This means he has to go to office early the following morning.

The truth is I FORGOT

(In EDUCHILD, we stress the fact that we should be very honest and not lie to our children. There was this father who told this inspiring story:

The truth is I FORGOT

He had fetched his son, R-Jay 3 hours late from school. The following conversation ensued:

R-Jay : Papa, why are you so late?
Father : My car broken down (it was a lie, he actually forgot)
R-Jay : Which part broke down?
Father : The axle
R-Jay : Papa next time you take good care of your car so I won’t go hungry again.
Father : (feeling so guilty and remembering the EDUCHILD lesson), R-Jay, I’m sorry, I lied to you. The car is all right, the truth is I FORGOT.

It’s feedbacks like this that makes our work in EDUCHILD very fulfilling and you maybe wondering why all about fathers. It’s because EDUCHILD makes an impact on the fathers who usually have the wrong idea that raising kids, is the mothers’ job.
